Beginning Knitters Finished Size: approx. 10" wide and 70" long Materials: 6 balls Filatura di Crosa Malizioso (49yds/50grams); US 13 (9mm) needle; two stitch markers. Scarf used 2 balls Beige 1 and one ball each of Red 3, Purple 6, Aqua 8 and Gold 7. Gauge: 2.25 sts = 1" on US 13 needle or size to get gauge Note: Each color block measured approx. 10" wide and 12" long. You can adjust the length of the scarf by eliminating or adding color blocks. You could also knit the scarf in one color. And if you like this reversible pattern you could use it to knit panels for a throw. Instructions: Using US 13 needles cast on 22 sts. Knit the first two rows placing stitch marker after the first two sts and before the last two sts. Row 1: K2, slip marker, *p2, k2, rep from *, end p2, slip marker, k2 Row 2: K2, slip marker, *k2, p2, rep from *, end k2, slip marker, k2 Rep rows 1 & 2 once more Rows 5 to 8: Knit, slipping markers Rep rows 1 through 8 for the pattern stitch keeping the first two and last two stitches in knit. Change colors as they are used up or plan to add in the new colors on the all knit rows. When the scarf is done bind off all sts after completing row 8. Weave in all ends along the sides of the scarf.
