Beginning Knitters
Finished size: approx. 19" head circumference (the hat has stretch and fits tight to the head)
Materials: 1 ball Serano (50 grams/110 yds); US 10 (6mm) needle; model knit in color color Rose 45
Gauge: 4 sts = 1" over garter stitch (knit every st and every row) using US 10 needle or size to get gauge
Instructions:
With US 10 needle cast on 75 sts. Work even in garter stitch until piece measures 5.5" from beg edge.

Next row (RS) (dec): *K6, k2tog, rep from * to last three sts, k3. (66 sts)
Next row (WS): Knit
Next row (dec): *K5, k2tog, rep from * to last three sts, k3. (57 sts)
Next row: Knit
Next row (dec): *K4, k2tog, rep from * to last three sts, k3. (48 sts)
Next row: Knit
Next row (dec): *K3, k2tog, rep from * to last three sts, k3. (39 sts)
Next row: Knit
Next row (dec): K1, *k2tog, rep from * to end of row. (20 sts)
Cut yarn and thread through rem sts, pull tightly and secure. Sew seam.
